I had the honor of photographing a beautiful wedding on Saturday at St. Peter Chanel Catholic Church in Roswell.
Megan & Zak have know each other since high school and it was very apparent how much in sync they are. The wedding was gorgeous and the church really lent itself to some lovely shots and settings.
I promised I'd share a few images as quickly as possible, so here they are!
Congratulations to Megan & Zak!
Hello! I'm back to blogging again. To be honest, I'm still getting the hang of making blogging second nature. I spend a lot of time with each of my clients and a lot of time keeping my skills in tip top shape. I find myself neglecting this blog. I apologize to anyone who has been missing me!
I relish the cold, dark winter months every year as a time to catch up on a lot of things. Reading, visiting my family, learning new skills. This winter, I've been particularly entranced by digital scrapbooking. I discovered this craft last year, but only recently have I taken the time to learn the nuances of it and to find my way around the internet to the best sites.
Well, I found a home in that regard and have made some new friends and have learned so much about what I can do to preserve my personal photos; old and new. I'll show you a bit of what I've done!
This is our dog, Jackson. We love him to pieces and I tried to express that in this 12 x 12 page.
Here are some photos of my parents on their wedding day. I have always wanted to create a book of some kind with the vintage images I have, and now I'm on my way!
My sister, Jennifer and I in the year...well, none of your business! But a long time ago!
And something I created using a photo of my oldest daughter!
So you can see that I've been busy! If you would like to learn more about digital scrapbooking, check out Designer Digitals at designerdigitals.com. Watch out, though, it's addictive!
Well, I'm quite a bit behind on my blogging! I do have several photo shoots to post a sneak peek of, but needless to say, procrastination has been my middle name lately!
I did take advantage of the cloudy, wet day today to finally get some updated photos of my sweet dogs, Cody & Jackson.
Cody is an amazingly young 16 years old. That is quite the accomplishment for a golden retriever! He can no longer hold 3 (yes, three) balls in his mouth at the same time (frankly, his breath is not of the floral scent any longer so we'd rather he keep his mouth closed anyway) but he dances like a young pup when it's dinner time. He loves his walks and his morning treats. For 100 years old, we think he's pretty great.
Sweet Jackson. He is the result of a barter deal! My first "pro" photography job was a family of 5 people and 7 dogs. I think it worked out quite well :) Jackson was a mere 1 week old the first time we saw him snuggled up with his litter mates. We knew right away that he was the dog for us. Three weeks after that first meeting, I did the photo shoot, which was pretty successful. It was crazy, but fun! Jackson joined our family a few weeks later. He's 10 now and he and Cody are inseparable. Jack has a pretty vast vocabulary and can identify all of his family by name. And, his coat is the softest ever!
Six cousins visited me last week! Varying in age from 3 to 15, the kids stopped by (with their parents, of course) to be photographed together for their grandmother.
They had on the most adorable clothing! All were dressed in shades of gray with accents of plaid, stripes and red. I loved it!
They were an active bunch and we had fun rounding everyone up for the shots. Here's a sneak peek! I love the way his tie is peeking out at the bottom of the vest :)
Big brother.
The older kids.
Look at those blue eyes!
The whole gang!
I think this was their favorite part, don't you?!
I photographed this couple's wedding back in April and here they are in front of my camera again for their Christmas card session! Andy they brought their "babies", Sally & Molly with them :)
We took a bit of a walk on a nearby nature trail and those wonderful dogs stayed right with us the entire time. Good dogs.

I'm not one to pose the kids who visit me to have their pictures taken. In fact, what I look for when I peer through my lens, is the spirit inside of each of them. Smiles are great, for sure. But kids have a bazillion different emotions running through them and if I can catch a glimpse of that for posterity, that makes ME smile!
And I love Dr. Suess. I read his books to my own girls on many a night. His words just seem to really ring true and speak to the inner child. So I was delighted to find the quote heading this entry as it seemed to fit these kids just perfectly! All three of them exhibited different levels of energy and engagement during their visit to me last week. But what was so cool, was that they felt comfortable enough with me to just be themselves. And I like that :)

I took some time out after yesterday's shoot to hike around a bit. It was so glorious outside. The leaves are just beginning to turn here and there's a slight hint of chill in the air.
I came across this vine of heart shaped leaves wearing their yellow autumn uniform. The light was rapidly receding but just a sliver of it landed on the vine as I walked by. What luck!

These boys have grown up right before my eyes! I love the opportunity to catch up with them every year and to watch their interactions change over time. They are always a delight to work with!
The camera really does capture a split second in time. I have plenty of smiles and funny faces from these guys, but I love that moment when I see a thoughtful pause through my lens and capture it. That's really what photography is all about, isn't it? :)
Have you seen my new website? If not, please take a peek! www.kerrymhalasz.com Let me know what you think about the re-design.
And...I only have a couple of spaces left for October & November. If you're planning to schedule a session, do it soon! All holiday orders must be placed by November 20. Keep that in mind!
