Pregnancy, birth, first steps, piano recitals, graduations, weddings. There are so many milestones in one's life. And so many moments to capture on "film". (I have yet to figure out a good word to replace film with. Digital memory card sounds so mechanical!)
I was recently hired to help a local family record their daughter's 1st Communion, a big milestone in her life. I clearly remember my own 1st Communion oh so long ago. My family, including my two wonderful sisters who were quite a bit older than I, got dressed to the nines. Dad in his suit and hat, mom in her linen skirt and stylish cropped jacket and my two sisters, gorgeous as always, both turned out in the latest fashions of 1966. We headed to our church to join all the other families for the ceremony.
I'll never forget the line of little girls dressed as I was, in their white dresses with veils and the little boys in their suits, quiet for a few minutes, waiting in line for our time at the front of the church.
It was to become one of the pages of my own history book. A moment to be cherished and treasured.
I have exactly one picture of it. And not a very good one, at that. It doesn't diminish the memory at all, but it sure would be nice to have a few more to make the memory complete in my mind.
That's why I was thrilled to be a part of this family's big day. Four generations were present for the celebration. Friends gathered round for the party afterward. It was a joyous day all around.

The second and last one are my favourites...very nice.:)
