There is a park in Atlanta that I love to bring families to for photo sessions. If you go through my website or blog, you can see it in the background pretty often.
It's one of the wonderful pocket parks that someone in Atlanta's history had the foresight to include in the master plan.
I love the way that the park is designed. On one end are lush gardens interwoven with a lovely pond and waterfall. Walking paths and steps are placed invitingly throughout and are bracketed by grasses and perennials.
The opposite end contains a wooden playground, fantastic hills to explore and lots of open area to play in. I think the little ones like this end best!
The park was built in sort of a swale, lower than than the streets that surround it. Because of this design, it's protected from wind and always seems a bit cooler than the street above. It's a perfect little park.
I met a family there last weekend for their biannual session with me. I've been photographing them since their 4 year old was a newborn. It's a joy to watch them grow up and they are always a delight. I thought I'd share a few of the images from that day in the park.
